David Gregg 12/11/49 and his son George Gregg
10/29/79 are believed to be part of a group that are targeting Phoenix Metro
Residents, as well as residents in Tucson. The suspects can see by the
exterior of the home that it is in need of repair. They are known to mainly
target the elderly. They arrive at a victim’s house and inform the
homeowners that they are one of the following: roofer, landscaper, painter
or handy men. They reportedly identify themselves as a father and son team,
and while inside one of them will ask to use the restroom, while the other
one will distract the homeowner. While the homeowner is distracted, the
person who goes to use the bathroom will steal jewelry, wallet, checkbook or
other valuables. Once they have stolen the victim’s valuables they leave
and then compromise the victim’s identities by using the stolen credit cards
or check books.
They have reportedly been linked to stealing
from several homes in Phoenix, and at least one in Tucson. If these
individuals have come to your house either together or with other partners,
promising their services and if you believe the stole your possessions or
identity, please contact Detective Craig Walker with the Phoenix Police
Department at 602-495-0680. |
ATTEMPTED BREAK-IN

Friday, April 16th, is the last day to MAIL your Census form. If you don't,
you will get a knock on your door in the near future by a US Census worker.
In light of the recent "scammers" that have been filtering through NENA, I
thought you might want to view the following information (click on the link
below) to be aware of who/who isn't an OFFICIAL US Census worker.
Are You in a Survey? Fraudulent Activity and Scams
NENA residents at 2934 N. 17th Avenue would like
to share this incident with you that occurred this morning, Monday, October
5th:
A young black man entered their home through an unlocked side door this
morning between 8 and 9 a.m. He walked through the house unaware
that the male resident was inside. When he realized he wasn't alone in the
house, he left by the same door taking the resident's wallet that was on the
dining table. The resident followed the intruder to see where
he went. Once outside the house, an unmarked
police vehicle
pulled up and the resident provided details of the incident. The police were in
the neighborhood following the suspects. The suspect and accomplice
were located and arrested between 15th & 16th Avenue on the south side of the
street near an apartment complex. The homeowner's wallet was recovered along
with other items that did not belong to him.
If you or a neighbor have been victim's of a
similar crime in recent weeks, please contact Phoenix Police at Crime Stop

EMAIL AND FACEBOOK SCAMS!
This happened to me just yesterday morning and I
heard from another NENA resident last night who also was "hit." This morning,
the NBC "Today" Show had a special segment on the scam that is hitting around
the world.
I opened my email to check messages. I saw a
message from a friend I've known for years. The friend's message indicated she
was in London and had been mugged and needed $500 immediately --- could I send
it and it would be reimbursed to me when she returned to America. Red flags
were all over that message and I just deleted it. This morning's segment on
"Today" was that exact scenario---and lot's of well-intentioned people are
falling for it. DON'T DO IT!!!
For more information, please see the segment and
information by clicking on

If this scam has occurred to you, the FBI wants to know. You can file a
report with them online.

SCAM
MISSING
PROPERTY TAX LETTER ASKING FOR CASH!
This news from a NENA resident who received one of the (reported on ABC15)
scam
letters in the mail. Local television station ABC15, along
with others reported it as a scam and the NENA neighbor thought since she just
received one maybe other NENA residents did, too. She wanted to warn others
who could become victims.
